Several historical monuments in Karnataka are under strict security. This is due to a Hindutva fringe group's attempt to stage a rally to the Jamia Masjid in Srirangapatna. In the meantime, a Hindu group chanted a Hanuman Chalisa at the site, claiming to have succeeded. The group also placed buntings and cut-outs of Lord Sri Ram and Hanuman at the Ganjam Circle.

The group claimed that there was a temple on the premise and that it was installed by the great sage Atri Maharshi. They also claimed that there was a Sanskrit school on the premise.

Delhi MCD elections

The state election commission has arranged security for the polling. Over 40,000 police personnel are deployed, along with 108 companies of paramilitary forces to keep the polls peaceful. A total of 3,360 booths are categorized as critical.

According to Delhi State Election Commission, more than 1.45 crore voters are eligible to vote in MCD polls. The election is being conducted across 13,638 polling stations. The voting process is scheduled to conclude at 5:30 pm.
